Welcome to Soul Story Therapy

Hello, I'm Susan Scott, a therapist deeply committed to holding space for difficult stories, quiet losses, and the complexities of what it means to feel deeply. I believe therapy is not about “fixing,” but about being understood and gently supported as you develop greater self-compassion, learn new ways to cope, make meaningful changes, and build resilience.

Why I Do This Work
Life asks us to carry experiences we never expected — grief, loss, trauma, transitions, and the quiet emotional burdens that often go unseen. These moments can change how we see ourselves, how we cope, and how connected we feel to others.

Over the years, I’ve witnessed how grief, loss, and uncertainty can reshape who we think we are; and how healing can happen not by erasing pain, but by integrating it into their story. My work is rooted in this belief: that every person deserves a safe, compassionate place to feel seen.

If you are someone who feels deeply, who is wrestling with love and loss, or who wants to find meaning after disruption — I would be honored to walk alongside you.

How I Work
I draw on somatic, mind-body, and narrative practices that help you reconnect to your body, your emotions, and your sense of self. We might explore trauma through gentle embodiment, parts work, or mindfulness; or untangle your story using emotion-focused and acceptance-based approaches.
My sessions are collaborative, relational, and paced with tenderness. Healing isn’t linear — I’ll meet you where you are and hold space for your truths, even the ones that feel too big or too fragile.

A Little About Me
Away from my work, I’m nourished by time in nature, reflective writing, and connecting with the people and passions that matter to me. I believe deeply in the healing power of story and human connection, and that belief shapes the way I practice.
